For what ever reason, The Fine Site went the way of other things on the net --  one day it just ceased to exist.   Sadly, the English version of the 7 chapters on web design are gone -- however the  German Version still exists 

The Fine Site was one of the coolest websites on the web, or was, it featured new and contemporary artists and was written by one of the best web designers I've ever seen -- Gerd Marstedt from Germany. This introduction, I felt capsulated the essence of good web design and the problems thereof. The format of my entire site stems from these ideas. 

Luckily, I thought the page so important that I  saved it  and I now publish it here until I can find Ger Marstedt and his site again.
