John Singer Sargent -- American painter 1882 Art Institute, Chicago Oil on canvas 128.3 x 90.2 cm (50 1/2 x 35 1/2 in.) Jpg: local / kingdufus Ormond and Kilmurray say in their book, Early Portraits (p.63), that not a lot is known about this painting and its origin. In 1923 the painting was purchased by Charles Deering, a close friend of Sargent.
Notes: This is a new aquisition to the Art Institute as of 2008 (acquisition from (Saz) a private collection.)
