Lord Louis Mountbatten was later Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the last Viceroy of India),
and his wife Lady Louis Mountbatten (1924), Edwina was the daughter of
Wilfred Ashley and his wife Maud, who was herself the daughter of King
Edward VII's great friend Sir Ernest Cassel. The two were married
in 1922.
