Jpg: Friend of the JSS Gallery

This is the portrait of Prince George, Duke of Kent, the borther of the Duke of York whom Laszlo painted in 1931, and the pendant portrait of his wife, the Duchess of Kent (nee Princess Marina of Greece).

The pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Kent were published as a special supplement to the Illustrated London News Royal Wedding Number commemorating their marriage in 1934.  In the same issue was a reproduced sketch portrait of Princess Marina that de Laszlo completed prior to the full-scale portrait.
