The Latin Quarter of Paris
where he and his friends lived. It was sort of the student part of town.
It was kind of a party side of Parisian life. Though Sargent didn't really
have time to party, at the age of twenty-two he certainly absorbed the
energy of the place and those around him. Friday afternoons must have been
times when he and his friends kicked back, relaxed, and enjoyed a beer
or two from their studies and work. Maybe not too unlike students today.
